About the workshop
The workshop will happen in 4 parts, each one dedicated to a specific subtopic.
1-description, properties and role of the fascia: the fascia is the connective tissue which is in all your body from skull to toes and in the deepest part of it also. It is soft, spongy, viscous, malleable and one of its most important properties is to be a physical AND an emotional shock absorber.
2-Link with pain: its large proportion of receptors, its fast connections with the brain and the fact of being a shock absorber permit us to understand why the fascia can be painful.
3- Medical imaging and fascias: There are different possibilities when you have pain: sometimes there is a pathology visible on medical imaging and in this case it is easy to understand but sometimes we can't see anything. In this case it is very difficult for patients, (and for medics) to understand why there is pain. That's where fascia is an understanding of our body because it can be painful before it comes to a pathology.
4- Somatization: the fascia is the first element to live your life even before your brain. It is the first to alert on sensations and it is not always heard for different reasons by the brain. And usually when you are not heard you scream louder or you try to attract the attention on a special point. The only problem is that your body , like your unconscious doesn't speak the language of reason and that's why we have problems understanding it.
At the end of the workshop we will go through a practical experience where I will make you feel the movement of the fascia inside your body.
About Jeanne
I am a physiotherapist since 28 years. I have built 3 medical offices in different areas in France and each time it has grown exponentially. During these years I did different trainings ( Sohier, Busquet, Ayurvedique massages...) but only one has completely changed my life: fasciatherapy. I have found an explanation about what I was feeling under my fingers: the slow movement of the fascias and how I could have a greater and faster recovery for patients.
Since this training I have stopped classic physiotherapy to work only in fasciatherapy since ten years. My last medical office was overcrowded and this is one of the reasons why I decided to quit: when you work too much and you see there is a waiting list for one month and a half it makes no sense. People are suffering and you can't help. I was also feeling it was too much and I didn't want to do my practice as "a routine work". In parallel the increase of aggressiveness and nonsense in France made me think about my old dreams of traveling and going to meet other cultures and people.
We have been in Spain, Crete, Mauritius, and back in Crete because even in Mauritius we were thinking about Crete! That is how we are here today and I am happy to try to let know this global way of thinking a body and that there is no separation between shoulder and foot, not either between back and brain! I have also co-written in 2022 a book about fasciatherapy and systemic approach: " Il est temps de délivrer votre génie intérieur, fasciathérapie et approche systémique à votre secours" aux éditions " le lys bleu éditions".This book is to let know to a maximum of persons fasciatherapy and the work in coordination with the systemic approach which work on the unconscious and liberate the mental.
